Subverting Subversion or How to Set up a Git-allic Village

We certainly live in privileged times. Gone are the days were we had only closed source, proprietary software at our disposal. Today, thanks to free and open-source software, we have access to an abundance of high-quality tools — tools, that we can even tweak until they fit our personal needs.

Virtual machines give us access to our beloved development environment even on alien host operating systems. No matter if I have to work on a Windows platform, Cygwin makes it bearable and gives me that certain Linux feeling.
